Our Story

WHY WARRIOR?

Warrior Wellness and rehab specializes partnering with individuals living with chronic conditions including dizziness, pain, stroke, spinal cord injury, concussion, and hypermobility syndromes who are motivated to reach their goals. Dr. Jen has a unique perspective that allows her to see the whole person to get the root of the problem. Her training allows her to blend her board certification in neurologic physical therapy and orthopedic manual therapy empower you in living the life you want. You can choose to see her in her office or have her come to your home, no more worrying about driving or organizing rides!

Dizziness is a complex interaction between your vestibular system, vision, proprioception, and nervous system. There can be many causes of dizziness from positional vertigo (BPPV), autonomic dysfunction which is often seen in POTs or Parkinson's disease or after a brain injury such as a stroke, or simply from stiffness in the neck. Dizziness can be chronic or acute and is limits your ability to do what you love.

Dr. Jen became passionate about all aspects of chronic illness through years of frustration around her own medical journey. Being a warrior herself, She knows how important it is to listen and utilize a holistic approach in treatment.

FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long will I need PT?

Every body is different, however usually 6-8 visits spread over 1-2 months. It is important to finish your entire plan with your PT to gain the most long term benefit and return to your goals even after the pain is gone.

  • 3-4 visits will be to make a long term difference in your pain

  • 3 visits to give you a plan for strengthening and improving movement patterns to keep the pain away and return to your goals.

  • 1-2 visits will be to support your independence in these new habits.

Policies

Cancellation Policy

Because we dedicate 1:1 appointment slots to optimize your rehabilitation, we ask for 24-hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. If you need to change your appointment within this window, a $50 cancellation fee will automatically be charged to your account.

Insurance

In order to maintain transparent pricing and optimize patient care, The Dizzy PT has chosen to be an out of network provider for all insurance except Medicare. A superbill will be provided upon request for you to submit to your insurance.

Referrals

In Tennessee you can come directly to see your physical therapist without a referral from an MD, however Medicare continues to require a referral which can be faxed to 423-389-9336 or emailed to jen@thedizzypt.com

Why Choose Out of Network?

No Surprises

We offer upfront pricing which is consistent no matter what service is provided. With in-network providers, you are billed by the type of service which could result in a bill of $900 or more for one visit! For example, in an initial visit for a dizzy patient the therapist may bill a high complexity evaluation ($360) and a canalith repositioning maneuver ($575).

You're in charge of your care

  • Most clinics have contracts with the insurance company that decide a reimbursement rate. Skilled hands on therapy unfortunately is often reimbursed at a lower rate.

  • Most insurance companies do not require that your doctor of physical therapy give you their undivided attention which could result in the use of therapy extenders and lower quality care.

More freedom

You are in control of your health, no waiting for insurance to approve your visits or how long you can be seen, you get to meet your goals and return to doing the things you love faster.

Gap exception

We chose to be an out of network provider because it allows us to provide highly specialized, quality care to our patients, especially our patients with complex medical needs such as Concussion, hEDS, POTs, vascular compressions, and chronic pain. We understand that finances can be a limiting factor, however a gap exception may be a good option in these cases. A gap exception is when there is a “gap” or disparity of in network providers qualified to treat your condition within a reasonable drive. You can choose to file for a gap exception with your insurance company and maintain the same benefits of up-front pricing without surprises while submitting your superbill to your insurance as in-network if your gap exception is approved.
